We aim to attract the best and the brightest students to our international classrooms. Therefore, we offer outstanding students the opportunity to apply for several scholarships.

Scholarships for Master’s students

  • NN Future Matters Scholarship - Deadline 1 April

    For first-generation academic students from Belgium, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain or Turkey.

    Applying for a full-time MSc programme in the field of finance, risk management, economics or entrepreneurship.

    Deadline: 1 April

  • Amsterdam Merit Scholarship - Closed
    • Opens October 2022 for 2023 intake
    • For: Outstanding students with a non-EU nationality.
    • Amount: equal to the tuition fee + €5,000 additional allowance
    • Deadline: 15 January
  • Orange Tulip Scholarship - Closed

    Economics and Business offers Orange Tulip Scholarships for non-EU Master's students in several countries. The scholarships are administered by the Nuffic NESO and cover your full tuition fee plus a €5,000 additional allowance. This year the Orange Tulip Scholarship is open for applicants with IndianRussian and South African nationality. The application to the scholarship is done via the Neso offices and the application to the programme via our Embark digital application form.

    The deadline for the scholarship and application to the programme is 15 January.

  • Amsterdam Economics and Business Talent Fund - Closed
    • Opens October 2022 for 2023 intake
    • For: Outstanding students with a non-EU nationality in financial need
    • Amount: TBD
    • Deadline: 15 January

Other sources of financial aid

  • The Dutch Ministry of Education and Sciences offers scholarships covering costs of living expenses within the framework of cultural agreements between the Netherlands and other countries. Information is available from the Dutch embassy or consulate in your country or via Grantfinder and the Nuffic.
  • You can also contact the Ministry for Higher Education in your own country. There may be funds or foundations available for students planning to study abroad. Like the  Colfuturo Scholarship for students from Colombia.
  • In certain cases it is possible for Dutch/EU students to receive a monthly student loan from the Dutch government (via DUO).
