Media Suite Webinars 2022

In the spring semester 2022, the CLARIAH Media Suite team offers a webinar series, the Media Suite Webinars 2022, that introduces participants to working with the audiovisual collections, tools and methods made available in the Media Suite. Each webinar starts with a theoretical introduction followed by a hands-on session.

The Media Suite is an online research environment for audio-visual collections and media studies research developed within the NWO funded CLARIAH project.

Programme

  • Wednesday February 16, 2022, 15.00-17.00 : “Studying historical viewing and listening rates in the Media Suite”. Session lead: Jasper Keijzer (UU). Hybrid event, participation possible via Zoom or at the UvA Buzzhouse .
  • Wednesday March 16, 2022, 15.00-17.00 : “Video annotation of film and broadcast collections in the Media Suite”. Session lead: Christian Olesen (UvA). Hybrid event, participation possible via Zoom or at the UvA Buzzhouse .
  • Wednesday April 20, 2022, 15.00-17.00 : “Cross-media corpus building and Oral History research in the Media Suite”. Session lead: Norah Karrouche (VU/EUR). Hybrid event, participation possible via Zoom or at the UvA Buzzhouse .
  • Wednesday May 18, 2022, 15.00-17.00 : “Decolonising Media Studies and Archival Literacy” - CLARIAH Media Suite Fellowship session with Sanne Koevoets (EUC) and Asli Özgen-Havekotte (UvA). Hybrid event, participation possible via Zoom or at the UvA Buzzhouse .
  • Wednesday June 15, 2022, 15.15-17.15 : “Analyzing Automatic Speech Recognition results of broadcast collections in the Media Suite”. Session lead: Alec Badenoch (UU/VU). Hybrid event, participation possible via Zoom or at the UvA Buzzhouse .
